![]() Remember, the menus are now in the Main menu bar.AstroImager is a front end for imaging and auxiliary devices INDIGO agents. The pinwheel will eventually (8 to 10 seconds) stop and you should then see the PoleMaster window. When the program is launched right after plugging in the camera, there will be a long pause, with the spinning pinwheel showing, while the program is (presumably) downloading firmware to the camera.īe patient. If you see the alert, quit PoleMaster, plug in the camera, and re-launch the PoleMaster application again. If the cable is not connected, you will see an Alert telling you that the "PoleMaster equipment" cannot be found when you select PoleMaster > Device > Connect. You do need to plug in the PoleMaster USB cable in advance. Now copy the three dynamic library files from the (old) v1.0 framework folder to the (new) v1.3.2 framework folder.Ĭlick on the modified v1.3.2 application to launch the application, and it should now run. Next, do the same with the v1.0 application in a separate Finder window (i.e., open the v1.0 Frameworks folder). In the application package, you should find a folder named "Contents." Inside the Contents folder, you should find a "Frameworks" folder. "Applications" are just special folders in Mac OS X. The above action opens the application package. If you are not familiar with where libraries are kept, etc, carefully follow the following steps:Ĭontrol click (and hold) the mouse in the v1.3.2.0 application icon to display the contextual menu, and select the menu item "Show Package Contents." I notice too that V1.3.2.0 also uses the new user interface (white open circles instead of red discs for the matching template, etc) that is used by the current beta version of the Windows PoleMaster. ![]() QT is still inferior to Apple's own native Cocoa framework, but far better than whatever QHYCCD was using as the IDE before this. To connect to the PoleMaster camera, go to the Device menu in the Main Menu bar, for example i.e., PoleMaster > Device > Connect. So, all the Menus are now in the proper place (in the main menu bar instead of the X-Windows menu bar). Note that QHYCCD has apparently moved from their original framework to using the QT framework. I could not test it completely, since the skies here are completely clouded over, but the modified PoleMaster will now run through the alignment steps (indoors, pretending to click on Polaris and the second star and moving the RA axis :-) without crashing. PoleMaster v1.3.2.3 is the one that finally worked for me on El Capitan on two different machines (running Mac OS X 10.11.4 and 10.11.6).įor the adventurous (what do you have to lose, since the existing stuff does not run anyway :-), try replacing the three following dynamic libraries in the new (v1.3.2.0) PoleMaster by the dynamic libraries from the original (v1.0) Polemaster application: PoleMaster v1.3.2.0 through v1.3.2.2 crashes immediately at launch time (caused by bad dylibs). PoleMaster v1.0 crashes within seconds to minutes when running on the two machines I tried it on, and I never could finish polar alignment (it appears to be a Thread-safety problem - buttons and sliders and display not executed in the Main thread of the PoleMaster program). If it looks gibberish and still don't give you a clue what is happening, copy the text (Command-A followed by Command-C) and paste (command-V) it to an email to QHYCCD so they can help with your particiular problem.īe sure that you are running v1.3.2.3 (do a GetInfo or Command-I on the PoleMaster application icon to see the Polemaster version). The CrashReporter output shows the reason for the crash, the thread and location that is causing the crash, and also includes the machine type and MacOS X version. When you are done with the CrashReporter window, click instead on "Don't Send." BUT DO NOT CLICK on the "Send To Apple" button (there is nothing Apple can do about a crashing QHYCCD program :-). You will then see a CrashReporter output. If PoleMaster runs, but the program crashes, you should see an alert panel that says "PoleMaster quit unexpectedly."Ĭlick on the "Report." button in that alert panel. For some reason, QHYCCD never bothered to register as a Developer with Apple and Code Sign their program (this applies to EZCap too). Select "Apps downloaded from Anywhere." You can set security back after running the program once. Firstly, you need to change security settings (in Security & Privacy in System Preferences) to allow the PoleMaster application to run.
